About the Facilitator

John KrutschJohn Krutsch is a code poet with an irreverent approach to academia and its relationship, or lack thereof, with technology and its role in education. Krutsch currently serves as the Sr. Director of Instructional Design, Development and Distance Education at Utah Valley University. In this role, Krutsch oversees the integration of course enhancements into learning management systems, as well as, the day-to-day operations involving distance education including faculty training & development, as well as instructional design services. Krutsch has over 20 years of combined experience as an educator and client-server applications programmer. He holds a B.S. in Elementary Education, a M.Ed. in Instructional Technology and an Ed.D. (ABD) in Curriculum and Instruction. He has taught thousands of students online and has developed hundreds of strategies that have improved student interaction within his courses which in turn has improved the quality of instruction.
